The Nitecore NU45 headlamp has a maximum output of 1700 lumens from the 8 x NiteLab UHE LEDs and is powered by a built-in 4000mAh li-ion battery. The light is rechargeable via USB-C and has an intelligent charging circuit with QC3.0 fast charging, which can fully charge in as little as 1.5 hours.

The light features a smooth TrueVision flood beam with a 100⁰ wide angle illumination. The unibody optical lens system has various facets to provide a bright but soft beam for comfort and reduced glare during prolonged use.

In addition to the main white light, the NU45 has an auxiliary red light to preserve night vision and for emergency use, and a high CRI white light to provide accurate colour depiction and improved close-up illumination. All outputs are accessed by the dual button interface on the top of the light – the power button turns the light on, off and adjusts the brightness levels and the mode button switches between the light sources.

The 32mm widened headband has thickened foam on the bracket to help absorb shock, repel sweat and effectively reduce pressure on the forehead when wearing for long periods of time. The quick-release bracket can quickly be detached for easy swapping, cleaning or switching mounts.

A sensor protection function automatically decreases the brightness when an obstruction ahead is detected to prevent overheating. The NU45 has a lockout mode to prevent accidental activation and for added peace of mind, during transportation or when not in use, the headlamp can be angled to look upwards so that the switches are facing the bracket.

On the base of the headlamp is an LED power indicator so you know when it’s time to recharge:

• 2 LEDs = approx. 50%
• 3 LEDs = approx. 75%
• 4 LEDs = approx. 100%
